The gift will go to health care professionals, giving them access to personal protective equipment and relief from hardships. ' "Nothing is as priceless as a community that comes together in times of crisis and does their part to fight it. PGHMFI greatly appreciates TikTok's enormous support, which will help secure PPEs and essential supplies to PGH's front-line healthcare professionals. This is really good as the PGH proceeds to perform its function as a government-designated COVID-19 hospital. With coordinated efforts, we agree we will avert a greater epidemic, save more lives and start healing," PGHMFI President Dr. Telesforo Gana said.

TikTok's donation is part of its regional fight against COVID-19. The Philippine TikTok party also expressed support for local doctors through the # salamatfrontliners initiative. There were 29,742 images and 56,209,777 shares on April 8.

Helena Lersch, TikTok Global Public Policy Director, also praised the Filipino community of TikTok, stating "TikTok may testify to Filipino resilience. They noticed how the Filipino group managed to look out for each other and offer a smile or a message of hope despite the gravity of the situation. We're grateful that TikTok is part of Filipinos ' daily lives. We hope this donation will send our medical frontliners the necessary equipment and supplies to restore the Philippines. From the bottom of our hearts, maramming Pinoy neighborhood salamate and frontline salamate!”
